Gus Mauro, co-founder of New West Realty Group, LLC's parent company in 1978, has been a strong advocate for and pioneer in Chicago's Near West communities. Mauro currently leads the property management and finance divisions of New West Realty Group, LLC. As President of OPPIDANusa, Mauro provides valuable construction, architectural, and engineering consultation to the construction industry.

Mauro has a distinguished record of public service, which includes his beginnings in Chicago's Department of Public Works as a structural engineer, his contributions in the Construction Division of O'Hare International Airport, his terms as Deputy Commissioner of Rehabilitation and Development, and Commissioner for the City of Chicago's Department of Housing.

Mauro brings a passion for quality and a high degree of management and administrative skills to every project he undertakes. When developers began loft conversions on the Near West Side, Mauro was again there to serve on Mayor Daley's Loft Conversion Task Force.
